Christmas Island Crane
This project involved the design and documentation of major remedial work to re-found the existing 51 tonne Flying Fish Cove wharf crane. Complex issues were overcome in the design including variable loading conditions, durability of critical structural elements and ensuring practical building solutions were developed. The new steel support frame was air freighted to the island then cast into the new extended reinforced concrete pile cap.
