The “Esplanade Apartments” on the beach at Scarborough demanded cost-effective engineering on a site with high exposure to wind and salt.
Load bearing brickwork to upper levels, combined with a major reinforced concrete “transfer floor” above basement carparking, provided the optimum solution for this structure.
