Gate Gourmet ($4m)

Pritchard Francis provided design and documentation services for the alteration and addition of an existing food preparation facility at Perth Airport with a construction cost valued at approximately $4 million. Scope of work included an initial investigation of the existing structure in which Pritchard Francis identified discrepancies between documentation and construction and as such avoided potential problems during the alterations and additions.

New building work included the installation of a new Halal Kitchen, the addition of a new high bay store, office and administration and extension of process areas. Structural issues that required particular attention included the method of construction and type of materials to accommodate staging requirements to maintain full operation during construction. Demanding ground conditions required specific detailing requirements and footing design for the control of moisture variations below ground.
