Hollywood Hospital
60 Bed Ward Extension ($5m)
The three storey concrete framed building was constructed in brick veneer with flat plate suspended slabs.
A strong involvement at the early stages of design development eliminated the need for a costly transfer slab at ground level. This was achieved by arranging the car park configuration to suit column locations that were fixed due to upper level ward layouts.
Intensive Care Unit, SSD and Theatre Upgrade ($9m)
This 2 level structure was designed to fit into a tight space and accommodate the addition of further floors at a later stage, without operational disruption.
New operating theatres and the upgrade of existing theatres were also undertaken, in a staged manner, to suit operation and staff accommodation.
