Woodbridge Primary School ($3m)

With tight budget constraints and existing facilities with historic significance, the challenge at this school was to develop new buildings ($3m), with continuity of schooling, on a restricted site.  Located in west Midland, the demanding soil conditions also required special care and attention.  Pritchard Francis assisted in early identification of major cost issues regarding the characteristics of the site, particularly foundation design and sub soil drainage.  A careful and controlled investigation of the current soil conditions has resulted in an effective but cost efficient method of dealing with both of these potentially major issues.

The project included redevelopment of the existing playing field, and protection of the original building which had historic significance, and the protection of mature trees.
