Founded in 1977, Pritchard Francis is a leading civil and structural consulting engineering firm. The firm is pleased to offer the 2008 scholarship to students about to enter their final year of study in the Civil Engineering course at Central TAFE, Subiaco. The scholarship applies to all students completing their studies during the 2008 year.

VALUE: $3,000 AND OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT

This scholarship represents a unique opportunity for interaction between private industry and Central TAFE. The aim of the award is to recognize and acknowledge an individual student's outstanding academic achievements, provide financial support, and offer an opportunity to a rewarding and fulfilling career in the consulting field of civil engineering. The scholarship is valued at $3,000 along with the offer of Employment.

The scholarship is awarded under the following conditions:

  The scholarship is open to all Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia who are about to enter their final year of study in the Civil Engineering Diploma or Advanced Diploma at Central TAFE, Subiaco
  The scholarship is paid in four equal instalments in March, June, September and December 2008. (Payments will be adjusted for students completing their studies mid year.)
  Paid Employment is offered at Pritchard Francis during the final academic year, working with senior draftspersons and engineers. Times and frequency are to be arranged based upon individuals study commitments and availability.
  In addition to the scholarship proper, the scholar will commence full time employment with Pritchard Francis at the commencement of 2009.
  Payments of the scholarship and an offer of appointment to a full time position with Pritchard Francis is made upon satisfactory completion of academic requirements.
  Scholars shall not hold any other scholarship simultaneously, but may accept from time to time such one-off prizes as may be awarded for academic merit.
  The scholarship may be withdrawn should the scholar defer from full time studies, transfer to another course or fail to complete his studies.

The selection panel meets in the third week of February 2008. Short listed candidates are notified of interviews the following week. The scholarship is awarded based on both academic achievements and the interview process. All candidates are advised of the outcome of their application by 28 February 2008.
