We’re pleased to announce recent changes within our team.

Mark Riddell / Principal – Civil

Mark has a broad range of knowledge of projects with both civil design and construction experience over a period of 12 years. His experience covers projects in land development and infrastructure works with both supervision and contract administration. Mark has successfully completed a Master of Business Administration degree in October 2017 which will see him contribute to the business side of the firm in the future.

Which projects have shaped your career?

I originally started working on infrastructure projects for private and government clients all over Western Australia, which included projects such as the $150M West Kimberley Regional Prison, the $180M Gorgon Project “Barrow Island LNG Plant” General Administration Buildings and the $100M Rockingham Kwinana District Hospital. I was able to gain significant exposure to the challenges involved with the design and construction in remote and regional Western Australia during time spent on these projects.

Over the past seven years of my career, I have helped grow the land development portfolio within the firm working with premier development clientele – projects have included Brightwood in Baldivis, Living Edge in Wellard, Flamewood in Brabham, Beenyup Grove in Byford with Parcel Property, Montario Quarter in Shenton Park with LandCorp, and the Hamilton Precinct with BHP Billiton and the Department of Housing. This has been balanced with continued work within industrial developments including multiple sites around the Fremantle Port expansion.

James Leiper / Associate – Structural

A dynamic Engineer and industry-leading advocate for sustainability and innovation, James achieved Chartered Professional status after only 4 years in the industry. He has become a GBCA Green Star Accredited Professional, recognised Life Cycle Design Analysis user, Infrastructure Sustainability Council Accredited Professional and was the Chair of FutureNet WA. James was also recognised by Engineers Australia as the 2017 WA Young Professional Engineer of the Year.

What projects are you currently working on?

I am currently working on the Kings Square Rejuvenation Project in Fremantle which is transforming the old Myer Building into a new retail and office building, while the Queensgate Cinema site is getting replaced by a brand new full precast concrete building which is very exciting.

I am also involved in a variety of other projects including One Mabel Park Apartments in Jolimont, the new RAAFA Bull Creek Apartment Building, and the Karingal Green Aged Care Facility – a new two-storey, 160 bed complex with a split level basement car park in High Wycombe.

Why does sustainability interest you and what type of projects do you most enjoy working on?

I have always been passionate about aiming to minimise the negative impacts on the environment in construction. I love working on projects that involve bringing existing buildings/precincts back to life to create great spaces that people enjoy being around.

John Malkovic / Engineer – Civil

John has three years of experience in civil engineering and undertakes a broad range of projects ranging between land development, commercial to government, infrastructure, service and road upgrades.

What projects are you currently working on?

Given the broad range of services and sectors that Pritchard Francis operates within, I’m currently involved in a variety of projects. This ranges from the delivery phase of the $345M Redevelopment of Fleet Base West at HMAS Stirling on Garden Island, through to land development projects like the 600 lot Vertex subdivision in Yanchep, high school developments at the new Carnarvon Community College and Butler North Secondary School as well as building, site and road services at the new RAAFA Bull Creek Development which will include 60 apartments over six levels and various multi-functional areas within the Club House.
