Structural Engineer - Design Automation

Pritchard Francis is a market leading consulting firm with offices in Perth, Broome, Albany and Darwin. We provide services across all regions of Western Australian and Northern Australian within all aspects of civil and structural engineering including transport, land development, engineering infrastructure and built form projects.
The Role
This is a new role that will consist of a combination of traditional structural engineering consulting and design automation. The initial structural engineering projects may be in the buildings sector, but we are interested in your experience and what sectors you have and would like to work in. Training will be provided in order to achieve the key role responsibilities below.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and investigate new workflows and tools to support the design and documentation process. For example, Revit to Robot integration to streamline and increase efficiency.
- Exploring new software and technologies to supplement current workflows.
- Maintain existing scripts and tools and provide support for the wider team utilising these tools.
- All aspects of design in structural engineering and assisting in the preparation of Revit models and drawings deliverables.
- Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, local government, and authorities.
- Attending site for inspections.
Key skills and experience you need to thrive in this role:
- 1 – 5 years’ relevant experience
- Consulting engineering experience preferred but not essential.
- Tertiary level qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Experience in Autodesk software (Revit/Dynamo in particular)
- Strong interest programming, computer science, computational design, scripting and generative design
- Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
- Be self-motivated with the ability work autonomously with a focus on delivery and service.
