Value Engineering Solution
  • Alternative drainage solutions to lessen impact of proposed development on existing stormwater drainage basins for the site.

Pritchard Francis undertook the civil design and documentation for the $200M Mandurah Forum Redevelopment, which comprised of major demolition works and an expansion of the centre to include six major tenants, 200 tenancies and multi deck car parks. The civil scope of work included demolition plans, at-grade parking, stormwater drainage and coordination of the main services trench through the site.

Through close liaison with all consultants for the common service trench to the new development, Pritchard Francis nominated an alignment and depth for all major services surrounding the centre. This coordination has ensured that the removal and reinstatement of existing pavement occurs in a localized trench of minimal width, ultimately minimizing disruptions to the operation of the trading facility.

The design solution ensures that an efficient civil design was achieved, minimising infrastructure, reducing development costs and, where possible, negating disruptions to the internal road network and functionality of the site during the staged process. To assist in achieving this outcome, Pritchard Francis prepared staged solutions such that new car parks could blend seamlessly into existing pavement networks during the early stages of construction.

Related to the shopping centre redevelopment, Pritchard Francis was commissioned separately to undertake design, documentation and site assistance for the $10M upgrade to roads surrounding the shopping centre.
