Coles Riverton Village
Property
- A drained joint slab system was designed in the loading bay which removed the requirements for piling and tanking below water table.
- An extremely efficient roof framing system was delivered saving significant cost compared to earlier Coles buildings designs.
Pritchard Francis was engaged as the structural and civil engineering consultant for the Coles Riverton Village development.
The project involved the design and documentation of a 4,080m2 Coles supermarket with a glazed shop front entry, wind lobby and double lane loading dock with scissor lift, a 900m2 First Choice Liquor store with glazed shop front, wind lobby and on grade service yard, car parking and associated services, amenities and landscaping.
The design and documentation for both civil and structural engineering components were successfully delivered in accordance with the project programme.
Civil design and documentation has included demolition, bulk earthworks, 1:100 ARI stormwater detention with slow release to the Water Corporation drainage infrastructure and roadworks to blend in seamlessly into the existing TAB to the west and fast food outlets to the east. High groundwater due to the proximity to the Canning River required alternative drainage solutions and a tanked loading dock to mitigate against groundwater rise.
