Located in the Pilbara, the Roy Hill Package 1 works is a major part of the Roy Hill iron ore exporting project.

Pritchard Francis was engaged by AMEC to provide the design and documentation of foundations for a section of the Package 1 works. The foundations included those for overland conveyors, transfer stations, drive stations and a truck slab.

The efforts of the design team resulted in an efficient design for the foundations, whereby the efficiencies were multiplied due to the large number of foundations across the job.

The design incorporated loading from a variety of elements and combined requirements from the Mechanical, Structural and Electrical design.

Pritchard Francis, along with other key members of the design team, were pleased to have the opportunity to become more familiarized with current iron-ore processing and transport systems. The team was able to produce the necessary documentation and deliverables within the tight timeframes demanded of the project.
