Karrinyup Shopping Centre in Karrinyup, WA, is undergoing a major transformation to offer its customers a unique world class retail and leisure experience. The project requires significant upgrades to 3.3km of Karrinyup Road between West Coast Highway/Marmion Avenue and Kwinana Freeway, including major upgrades to the intersections and approaches at Huntriss and Francis Roads, all to Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) standards and requiring approval from the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA). The three perimeter roads - being Burroughs Road, Davenport Street and Francis Avenue - are also being upgraded to include paved verges and car bays to City of Stirling approval.

Extensive modifications of the road layout, including the addition of dedicated bus lanes, have been required to manage the projected increased traffic volumes. Connecting roads and adjacent infrastructure, mapping existing services, complex drainage modelling, major intersection design and safety barrier design have been a significant part of the documentation phase in order to ensure efficiency during the construction phase.
