Form by Match
- Customising foundation solutions for different zones of the site to suit the geological conditions. Areas with higher allowable bearing pressures due to the presence of limestone across the site. A higher level of geotechnical testing was undertaken to facilitate this optimised solution.
- AFS walls and blade columns were used to allow progression of the superstructure prior to all partition walls being completed, shortening the construction programme.
- Highly corrosive coastal environment
- Basement construction in limestone soil conditions
Form by Match is a five level, 50 apartment development in North Coogee. Located 100m from the coast, this development had a high level of architectural design. Pritchard Francis was engaged to undertake civil and structural design for this development.
Located in an area with significant limestone pinnacles and caprock, the basement levels were specifically tailored to minimise earthworks costs in removal. In addition, the design bearing pressures used were varied throughout the site, to take advantage of higher bearing capacity where available, while controlling potential differential settlement.
The superstructure was designed using a reinforced flat plate and column arrangement, which allowed a fast turnaround between floors. A feature of the architecture was bedroom structures which cantilevered off the corners of the building. These were strategically located and sized to create a dramatic architectural effect, while actually increasing the efficiency of the floor plate.
Wording from LinkedIn 16/10/18 - The apartment development FORM by Match has recently achieved construction completion by M/Construction.
