The Carnarvon Police and Justice complex is a landmark project for the town of Carnarvon. The project includes the new state of the art police building, court house and community justice centre.
Pritchard Francis was engaged by Cox Howlett & Bailey Woodland on behalf of Building Management & Works to provide the civil and structural consultancy services for the project.
Pritchard Francis identified the cyclonic design of the buildings and façade as the key component and worked closely with Cox Howlett /7 Bailey Woodland to specify projects to meet the debris impact requirements of AS1170.2:2011.
In order to achieve the required finish, precast concrete panels were designed as the primary building façade. Panel sizes were limited to the acceptable transport dimensions to reduce the overall cost.
