Alchera Living Weeronga Village is a new multi-storey apartment building constructed within the existing Weeronga retirement village complex located on Worley Street in Willagee. Alchera Living engaged Pritchard Francis to provide civil and structural engineering consultancy services for Stage 1 of the project which included extensions to the Community Centre to provide residents with pool and gym facilities and set the benchmark and tone for all future development. The overall vision for the village is a cohesive community where residents enjoy enhanced independence, safety and security during their retirement, a village where residents feel at home and their visitors feel welcomed.
Due to the limited site accessibility, Pritchard Francis undertook the detailed design to create an access road through the adjoining public open space, which resulted in the relocation of existing footpaths, protection of authority services and the installation of limestone retaining walls to limit the extent of earthwork batters into the sporting fields.
